Hi there, I'm Kareena Patel.
I'm an aspiring front-end/web developer, student and two-time hair donator who enjoys creating things digitally.
About Me
I was introduced to programming when I was 13, dabbling in HTML (only) and later learning programming fundamentals through Python. I studied Computer Science from school into further education. My final project led me to learn a small amount of JavaScript using a framework called Phaser.js. I created a mobile phone game involving boxes balancing on a yellow duck boat. It was great to develop.
I ended up studying Computer Science at university but noticed I missed being artistic and visually creative. I knew Front-end development existed, so I took the earliest opportunity to dive in. It reignited my passion for technology. Merging creativity with technicality felt hugely familiar.
I was amazed at what I could throw together and display on the web. I spent my free time developing my basic front-end skills. I produced mini-day projects to experiment, learn and apply concepts. I could test ideas, fail, and try again in a safe space. Building these small projects showed me there is no limit to front-end development; inspiration and lessons are everywhere.
I'm currently completing my last year at university. Hopefully, I can move into a web development role full time.
Technology
As well as the technologies learnt in my degree, I've also explored skills by taking courses such as Kevin Powell's Conquering Responsive Layouts and Scrimba's Learn Javascript. I'm planning to explore Sass and take my JavaScript skills further in the future.
